Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising and Student Success, the Career Services Manager will collaborate to bring growth, organization, and implementation of scaled career education, career opportunities, and career development initiatives that touch all stakeholders. The Career Services Manager utilizes previous experience in the Career Services profession and the knowledge of career development theories to design and implement holistic career services to diverse UNEX student populations.
The incumbent will serve as the "Face of Extension" in 1) growing industry and employer partnerships for UCLA Extension, 2) overseeing career development initiatives for current students and alumni, 3) monitoring agreements with, and collaboratively managing relationships between UCLA Extension and third-party providers of career-related support resources, 4) maintaining federal and state compliance on employment reporting, 5) scaling traditional career services to current certificate students and recent alumni, and 6) develop metrics, analytics, and outcomes to measure service effectiveness. They also work with academic and student services units on creating/maintaining student services practices, procedures, documents, and databases on student internships and employment. The incumbent will lead the activities of the Career Services unit including strategic planning and establishment of goals and objectives, in consultation with their supervisor, and in close alignment with the Center for Advising and Student Success (CASS). Lastly, the Manager will directly supervise the Career Services Advisor, set performance goals, and serve as a guide and mentor.
