When Twilight fist graced our screens in 2008, millions of fans tuned in to see their favorite characters bought to life - but some may not have met the expectations of Twi-hards.
Based on the bestselling Stephenie Meyer book series, which were released between 2005 and 2020, the five Twilight films premiered between 2008 and 2012 based only on the first four.
The series followed Arizona teen Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who relocates to Forks, Washington, where she meets the mysterious Cullen family and falls in love with Edward (Robert Pattinson) - only to find out he's actually a 104-year-old vampire.
A love triangle ensues with Bella's childhood friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who happens to be a werewolf.

Although the casting was reasonably accurate for many of the fan favorites, a recent video showcasedAI-generated versions of the characters as described in the book - and it has captivated fans.
'All the vampires are too dark. They were supposed to be unnaturally pale,' one fan commented.
'Book description: "the girls are skinny, the guys are muscular, everyone is extraordinarily beautiful..."' laughed another.

Bella Swan
In the book, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, is the book's protagonist - described as having a 'god-like beauty.'
She also is said to have a 'very pale complexion' with 'long, straight brown hair, 'thin nose' and 'prominent cheekbones.'
Shedding yet further light on her appearance, the book states she has a 'heart-shaped face, wide forehead, chocolate brown eyes and full lips.'
Kristen famously played Bella in the film franchise, sharing the same pale skin and long dark hair.
The character of Bella doesn't look dissimilar in the AI generated version.
The latter does have bushier eyebrows and a slightly narrower face - but otherwise shares many of the same characteristics as Kristen's portrayal.

He's described as being 'tall, thin and muscular,' with a 'strong jawline and perfect eyebrows.'
His facial features included a 'straight nose and full lips,' with 'untidy bronzed hair' and 'topaz eyes.'
Robert Pattinson played the heartthrob in the movies, where they made his skin unnaturally pale - as per the novel.
But his AI counterpart looks marginally different - sporting a golden glow and not as pale as a vampire usually is.

He is described in the books as being Native American, 'tall and lanky' but also 'toned and muscular.'
Jacob in the series is also said to have 'raven-black hair and a ponytail' as well as 'russet skin' with'deep-set twinkling dark brown eyes.'
The AI version of the character is somewhat similar to Taylor's version facially.

Renesmee - played by Mackenzie Foy, the vampire-human hybrid child of Edward and Bella - was one of the most divisive casting choices made in the blockbuster series.
In the book, she's described as being 'immensely beautiful, with pink rosy cheeks and a dimpled smile.'
The child is also said to have a 'straight nose and full pink lips,' with 'curly bronze hair and perfect eyebrows and chocolate brown eyes.'
Renesmee, as she is half-vampire, also has pale skin and 'perfect, shiny square teeth.'
While the actress that played Renesmee looked somewhat similar to the books description when she was older, the special effects forTwilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 were mocked for the terrifying CGI baby they used who looked more like Chucky than adorable vampire baby.
The AI version of Renesmee is, again, not as pale as the vampires described in the books. The biggest differences in the AI version and movie portrayal was the computer-generated version has curlier hair and a sun-kissed glow.

Alice Cullen, played by Ashley Greene, is a vampire and an adoptive daughter of Carlisle and Esme Cullen.
She is described as a 'very beautiful and petite' woman.
The character is also said to have 'large eyes and long delicate eyebrows with cropped spiky black hair,' with 'medium gold eyes.'
The AI version is near-identical to Ashley Greene's version - despite the recurring issue of the golden glow.

Carlisle Cullen
Carlisle, the handsome father-figure of the Cullen vampire family, is played byPeter Facinelli in the films.
In the books, the town doctor is described as 'tall, handsome with gentle eyes.'
He is said to have a 'well-toned medium fame' with 'collar-length blonde hair.'
The AI render looks a lot younger than the film's version, with blonde hair that almost reaches his shoulders.
He again, has more of a tan than any of the vampires in the film do.

Charlie Swan
Bella's dad, played by Billy Burke, is the gruff police chief in the book and films.
According to the books, he's a middle aged man with an average build and a 'mustache, curly brown hair and chocolate brown eyes.'
The AI image features a more weathered version of Charlie Swan and itages him dramatically -although he still has his signature bushy mustache.

The AI version looks vastly different from Jackson's portrayal who has mid-length slightly wavy blondish hair and pale skin.
